Date received : 01/08/2022 Highways: Ward: Castle (May 2019)

Application by : Mr Joshua Weedon 53 Charles Avenue Eastwood Nottingham NG16 2AG United kingdom

Agent : Mr Joshua Weedon 53 Charles Avenue Eastwood Nottingham United Kingdom

Location : Hamilton Mews Cavendish Crescent North Nottingham Nottingham City NG7 1AY (Grid Ref: E 455998 N 339706)

Proposal : Large Sycamore tree to the rear of property (approx 4ft from rear south western wall in aerial picture).

Looking to fell tree to ground level + poison stump with Ecoplugs slow release stump killer. The tree itself has way outgrown its surroundings severely shading the bungalow + windows of the large white building next door, some neighbours sitting in complete darkness for the past few years. Last year builders where required to repair garage flooring due to root damage which I’m sure will only happen again/get worse with time. Removing the tree will also give the Silver birch next it to chance to flourish, this tree is situated in a much better location and also is slower growing/allows Alot more light through.

Application No : 22/01556/PWC Type: Works to trees in Conservation Areas (Planning Portal Ref: PP-11467555)

Date received : 10/08/2022 Highways: Ward: Castle (May 2019)

Application by : Clague 4 Park Ravine Nottingham City Nottingham NG7 1DJ

Agent : Ben Edmonds Bankfields Farm, Derby Rd Derby Rd Derby DE72 3NX United Kingdom

Location : 4 Park Ravine Nottingham Nottingham City NG7 1DJ (Grid Ref: E 456468 N 339315)

Proposal : Works: T1: Ash- Fell to ground level.

T2 &T3: Maple Reduce crowns by 2m using Reduction Via Thinning and clear building by 2m. RVT – involves the removal of a primary foliage bearing branches back to naturally occurring pruning points within the crown to subtly reduce and thin the canopy. The method removes small percentages of the foliage bearing branches back to the best, naturally occurring pruning points within the canopy as per BS3998.

Justification: T1: The ash tree is showing signs of Ash Die Back disease. ADB is a serious disease of ash trees caused by the fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (previously called Chalara fraxinea). The disease causes leaf loss and crown dieback in affected trees and can lead to the death of the tree. Trees that are killed by ADB can become dangerous and unsafe to climb. Due to the trees location it would not be possible to access the tree with a MEWP and removing the tree once it is dead would be very challenging and expensive. It therefore makes sense to remove the tree before it becomes a threat.

T2&T3: The trees are an important component of the garden. However, they are becoming dominant and arguably too big for the location. Regular sensitive reductions will maintain a viable leaf bearing crown and enable the trees to be maintained at a size where they can continue to be an asset.
