Do you want Padel Tennis Courts in The Park Bowl?
A Padel Tennis Company wants to submit a planning application for 4 floodlit Padel Tennis Courts in The Park Bowl on the old Active Ace Site / EBA Bowls green. They have called a public meeting for this Thursday, 23rd March 2023 at 7pm but have not contacted us directly to promote it. Hence the short notice . . . Please note the location is not The Park Tennis Club but the Nottingham Castle LTC accessed off Tennis Drive.
The NLTA who own the site are keen for this to proceed as it will provide them with a steady income from a sporting activity that does not contravene the covenant. Issues to be aware of however, are increased on-street parking, floodlighting on fixed masts – not retractable like the ParkTennis Club’s – visual impact with 3m high glass walls topped with metal mesh fencing, and noise, which if you want to google it, is why Padel Tennis in residential areas has not proven to be very successful.
