In the recent Civic Society newsletter there were details about the donation of Ken Brand’s photos to the Nottinghamshire Archives. A good number of Park estate houses are included in the collection so thought it worth sharing.
Ken’s collection of slides of Victorian and Edwardian Nottingham buildings has been donated to Nottinghamshire Archives, and these have been scanned and uploaded to their Inspire Picture Archive.
Ruth Imeson, their Heritage Services manager, told Ken’s wife Patsy:
“We rarely see such a comprehensive collection of images on Nottingham’s buildings and we expect there will be significant usage. You can follow this link to view the site:
Thank you for providing this opportunity for the public to benefit from your husband’s passion for Nottingham and its heritage.”
Ken Brand was an acknowledged expert on the Park Estate and its history, authoring a book ‘The Park Estate, Nottingham’ published by Nottingham Civic Society (ISBN 978-1902443119) and available from the Civic Society, as detailed here:
The book is also available from local libraries.
