Following our recent survey 38 Park Residents responded about what arts related activities they would like to see happening in The Park. Popular activities included painting & drawing, architecture/social history, musicians, and poetry/creative writing, although there were also many other groups suggested such as crafts, games and gardening. Around 25 people offered to share their expertise and of these a number agreed to help organise and run activities. As a result of this we have started a small organising team and hope to bring together some new arts groups in the next few months!
The launch event will feature Steve Nice who will do a demo of landscape painting. Steve appeared on the second series of Grayson’s Art Club in February 2021 showcasing his cellar mural of his dream bar, and in January 2023, Steve will be on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year, and you can tune in to see how he gets on! Steve is looking forward to passing on his experience and techniques and hopes to inspire enough people to form an Art Club.
After Steve’s demo we will have a meet and greet/networking session to allow people to express and interest and sign up for some of the other arty groups we hope to develop
