Haggis, poetry, a dram or two, and more tartan than you can crith a bata at. The Park celebrates Robbie at the Tennis Club this year, on his special night. Cost £27 per person, includes three course meal and tipples. All are welcome - singles, couples, or small groups. The team at Small Food Bakery, led by Owner/Baker Kimberley Bell, make breads, pastries, preserves and meals from scratch, buying ingredients directly from farmers and selling directly to customers from their kitchen in the former Douglas Road primary school. Their objective is to prove that small "human-scale" food manufacturing and direct trade are what's needed to enable transition to a new, more resilient, kind of agriculture, which supports the biosphere while feeding everyone on the planet. Julie Obermeyer is Curator of the Salvation Army Museum here in Nottingham and will talk about the history of the founder, William Booth, and how the organisation came to be established in Sneinton in the City. Hear about the life and work of William Booth, Nottingham’s most famous preacher and social worker.

Hannah Nicholson has studied 18th and 19th century elections and political culture. She has recently completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Nottingham, examining the vast range of posters, cartoons, and songs which were printed and distributed during the elections. This talk gives a flavour of these printed canvasses, and the bribery and corruption which accompanied many elections.
