Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature – Autumn Talk
October 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
In 2015 Nottingham was accredited as a UNESCO City of Literature with the ambition of ‘building a better world with words’. In this talk, James Walker, a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University School of Arts and Humanities returns to us (remember his Talk on Allan Sillitoe) to explain how, why and when Nottingham became a City of Literature and what the cultural and economic implications are for the City. James is editor of Nottingham’s literary graphic novel Dawn of the Unread and recently explored Nottingham’s dialect and poetry for the BBC Radio 4 series Tongue and Talk.
